Dog Catches Car

ApSeed receives State Funding.

We are excited to announce that ApSeed has received State funding!! After years of discussions and funding request, we made the 2022-23 budget! Many, many thanks to Rep. Harry Warren for his tireless efforts to push through the funding. He made it happen.

ApSeed is allocated $2.5 million with flexibility to identify NC communities and school districts for our program(s). Between now and June 2024, we intend to reach approximately 15,000 children to prepare them for kindergarten. We caught the car. Now what?

Now we mobilize. This is where our business experience will kick in. Organize, deploy, analyze, and scale. Our good friends at NC Department of Instruction (DPI) know the allocation and audit process inside out. Thanks, DPI, in advance, for your help. For this roll out, the ApSeed model is built to scale, so we will be ready.

Our two overarching goals are: 1) Be successful in proving ApSeed’s model. We do this by showing kindergarten-readiness macro data with a significant return on investment (ROI). Overall, higher percentage of children assessed as kindergarten-ready with ApSeed vs. without ApSeed. 2) Deserve and receive “recurring” funding.

By getting recurring funding, ApSeed can continue to expand. Ultimately, we want to canvas all of North Carolina to make our State the poster child for kindergarten-readiness. See the pun? 😊

But first things first. It’s time to identify our districts, allocate resources, set up how we capture data and work the model. We will be seeking volunteers. So let us know if you are interested. Exciting times at ApSeed. Thanks for all your support and encouragement.
