ApSeed recently welcomed U.S. Senator Thom Tillis’ Regional Representative Lauren Kennedy to Kiddie Land in Salisbury, NC (Rowan County). The excited children filled Lauren’s visit with smiles and laughter as they showed off their new skills by using the ApSeed pre-K touchpad.
Kiddie Land director Timika Peterson and her team gave Lauren a tour of the engaging childcare center and they spent time in several classrooms with preschoolers eager to demonstrate their smarts.
After the visit at Kiddie Land, ApSeed founder Greg Alcorn and Executive Dir. Julie Morrow took Lauren to another ApSeed distribution site, the Rowan County Health Department. This is where ApSeed works with program administrators for the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) supplemental nutrition program to provide touchpads to participants.
ApSeed regularly hosts local, state, and national elected officials and reps with community foundations for on-site visits across the Carolinas. These in-person sessions are the best way for preschoolers to demonstrate their new knowledge they’ve gained while playing the touchpad’s learning games.
